‘Yellowstone’ Star Luke Grimes Talks Differences Between TV and Film Acting

Also during his interview with Content Mode, the Yellowstone star opens up about the differences between TV and film acting. “The first I’m really finding out is sustainability,” Grimes explains. He then notes that with film, actors are there for a couple of months and they can just walk away from the set.

“With TV, you never know how long you are going to have to keep this character at arm’s length and pull them back out again year after year,” Grimes notes. “With an intense drama that can be a tall order.”

In regards to his favorite moments while shooting on Yellowstone, Grimes says some of the bigger family scenes were the most special.

“Just because we were all there in that beautiful place doing such an original project. [The show] is a dreamy job to have right now.”

Luke Grimes Opens Up About His Work Ethic

In a 2019 interview with Glass Magazine, Luke Grimes shares details about his own work ethic.

“If it’s something I care about, there is no end to how much I will at it,” Grimes proclaims. He then explains if he doesn’t care about it, it will take a lot to draw interest from him. “I wish this were different. I’d probably be richer or something. But I guess I don’t really care about that.”

While revealing the most important part of considering any projects, Grimes notes that characters tend to draw his interest. “The character and whether or not I feel I have something of value to bring to it. And then the director and whether or not they care to make something good.”

Grimes previously had roles in Taken 2 and the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise. He was also in Brothers & Sisters, True Blood, and Outlaw Country before taking a main role in Yellowstone. Grimes is set to return for Yellowstone’s fourth season along with Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, and Wes Bentley. The new season is reportedly set to premiere at the end of 2021.
