Boy, oh boy, what we would do to hear the sound of wedding bells for Yellowstone’s Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton in season four, but what would this wedding look like?

Beth and Rip’s Relationship on Yellowstone

In the last few minutes of season three, we were speechless as Beth’s assistant opens a package in her office that contains a bomb. Fans aren’t sure if Beth is alive or even how she could have survived the terrible blast. The scene cuts to a street view, and we see the windows being blown out of Beth’s office in a cloud of debris and smoke.

Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler have never had an easy relationship together. From the first moment the Dutton’s took in a young and beaten Rip, we knew he was trouble for our little Beth. The first thing she says to him is that he is her father, John’s new pet, which didn’t sit well with Rip. He responded with, “I ain’t nobody’s pet.” Beth reassures him by saying she is looking for a pet of her own.

Fast forward a few episodes, and we see the young couple share their first kiss together, which eventually progresses to more, and a scared Beth Dutton falls pregnant. Jamie, being the crappy brother he is, takes Beth to a clinic to get an abortion. To Beth’s surprise, she is now sterile as one of the requirements for the abortion was a hysterectomy.

Beth also never tells Rip about the baby, but now, later in life, he knows that Beth cannot have children for some reason.

The Proposal

When Beth proposes in Yellowstone late in season three, however, we get butterflies. Let’s relive the moment, shall we?

“I don’t need presents, Beth. Just you,” -Rip.
“Well, that’s what it means. It means that you have me. That I’m yours. It means come live your life with me, and the only thing I ask is you outlive me, so I never have to live another day without you.”-Beth
“I can try and do that.”
“Okay. It’s settled, we are getting married,” -Beth
“Married, huh?”
“Yeah, baby. I’m asking you to marry me. Will you do that?”
“I mean, I would have to ask your father, though.”
“He spared you the indignity. So what do you say? Is that a yes?”
“Beth, I can’t go to no courthouse. There’s no record I even exist on this planet.”
“Yeah, well, a marriage license is just a contract. That’s just business. We ain’t going into business together. So marriage to me is, you take me in front of those mountains, in front of my family, my friends–I don’t have any friends, but should I make one, you would stand in front of them, and you would tell them there is no more you and I. There’s only us.”
“I can do that.”

The Wedding

With that conversation alone, I feel like we can gauge how Beth and Rip’s wedding would look.

The ceremony would be small. Only the people living and working at the Yellowstone ranch would be invited.

Also, Beth doesn’t strike us as a bedazzle and princess ballgown type of girl, so we could picture her in a white silk slip dress. Maybe lace if she is going all out.

The color scheme would be white or pretty understated with a lovely bouquet of flowers to contrast the dark black Rip always seems to wear.

Since neither Beth nor Rip is religious, the whole wedding would be outdoors. Maybe in the same location, the cowboy’s set up camp for a few episodes in season 3, however, definitely on the Yellowstone ranch. The beautiful mountains would be in the background, and John Dutton would officiate the ceremony. Rip has also already asked Lloyd to be his best man.

The big question is if Jamie Dutton will be invited, given him and Beth’s undying hate for one another.

There would definitely be an open bar, and we would like to think there will be romantic string lights overhead for when it gets dark out.

We bet a band would play the latest bluegrass or country music. We have our hearts set on Tyler Childers to play the first dance for the special event.

The whole wedding would be simple yet beautiful. I mean, who would have ever guessed that either Beth or Rip would be getting married, anyway! This is a big day for everyone!

Are we planning our dream wedding or theirs? You decide.

Yellowstone: “Destroying Anything”

As Beth said once before, “I believe in loving with your whole soul and destroying anything that wants to kill what you love. That’s it. That’s all there is.”

A few people have to be destroyed, and a few miracles will have to happen, but we are hopeful for our twisted yet favorite Yellowstone couple.
