Why is Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! airing on a different channel?

For the Indianapolis region, upcoming shows will not be aired on their typical CBS network local stations. The June 17 and 18 episodes of the game shows will air on MeTV 13.3.

Why the change in the channel? Channel 13 (WTHR) is airing the United States Open Golf Championship on June 17 from 7-10 PMCT and June 18 from 6-9 PM CT. The golf tournament will also be held on Saturday and Sunday.

Wheel of Fortune will air at 7 PM CT as per usual and Jeopardy will air at 7:30 PM. NBC’s Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie is the guest host for Jeopardy! currently through June 25.

‘Wheel of Fortune’ Fun Facts

During a recent episode of Wheel of Fortune, Vanna White and Pat Sajak answered an interesting fan question. A viewer submitted a question through Instagram about what happens after the cameras stop rolling and the credits play.

Sajak told the Wheel of Fortune viewers that he chats to contestants and it’s mostly small talk.

“Sometimes, if someone mentions that they have kids, we’ll talk about how old are your kids, what do they like to do, and all of that,” he shared.

White and Sajak also discuss the game itself.

“But, it’s funny because they will often turn to us during that and say, ‘I was wondering what you talked about,’” he admitted. “And so, yeah, there’s no agenda. They’re all nice people and they’re just relieved that it’s over. And, of course, the person we are talking to won, so, we talk about that too and how well they played. But it’s really just small talk.”

For a time, Sajak’s only daughter, Maggie, took White’s place while White took over hosting duties. Maggie is currently going to law school at Columbia University after getting her degree at Princeton University. Almost every day, Maggie has her father answer a question from one of her Instagram followers. During the segment, Pat revealed that the secret to becoming a witty host is to always pay attention and think ahead.

Did you know that the mysterious unseen announcer Jim Thornton has a big resume? He has been announcing the show for a decade. Thornton replaced longtime announcer Charlie O’Donnell after he passed away in 2010. Thornton has worked as a voiceover artist for television, video games, film, and commercials over the years.

Do you think you’ve got what it takes to compete? Wheel of Fortune producers revealed to ABC News that their ideal contestant “knows the show well and is an avid puzzle solver in their free time.”
