Lisa Marie Presley and her late son, Benjamin Keough, shared a special relationship. One touching moment that fans are pointing to in the wake of her son’s passing is when the two got matching tattoos.
In the spring of 2012, a fan asked Lisa Marie about the ink on her foot. She explained that the Celtic eternity knot represented her connection with her son. According to the tweet, Lisa Marie and Ben got the tattoos in 2009. “Ben (my son) and I got it together in the same place on Mothers Day 3 years ago,” she wrote.
Within hours of Keough’s passing, a number of fans started posting new replies to the above tweet. Many offered their condolences and expressed their sadness in Lisa Marie’s family’s loss.
“You have been through so much as a woman. I give you my complete respect. Mother to mother my sincere condolences for your loss. May you be comforted by the love and adoration for Benjamin and your family,” one user wrote. Another echoed a similar sentiment writing: “Lisa, I’m thinking bout you hard. My heart genuinely hurts. I’ve grown up out here with you. I’ll continue to hold you and yours and your Momma in my heart till my end. I love all of y’all.”
Benjamin Keough died at the age of 27. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed that Keough’s manner of death was suicide, according to USA Today.
Roger Widynowski, Lisa Marie Presley’s manager, released a statement about the family’s devastating loss. “[Lisa Marie] is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life,” Widynowski.
