Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani took home the 2020 CMT Award for Collaborative Video of the Year for “Nobody Like You.”

What Blake Shelton Had to Say

The couple accepted the honor during the telecast on Wednesday (October 21). The duo immediately hugged after getting the news that they won. This marks Stefani’s first CMT Award. This also marks the couple’s first win as a duo.

“This is absolutely unbelievable,” Shelton said, visibly shocked. “First of all, thank you, Gwen Stefani.” “Thank you!” Stefani added. “My gosh, I can’t believe it. Country music! What is happening with my life?”

“I told Gwen when I saw who the other nominees were in our category, literally it was like, ‘That would’ve been cool, but I don’t know what our chances of beating Justin Bieber are,'” he admitted. “But here we are. So thank you so much… Fan-voted awards are, to me, the only stand-up award shows left in our industry it feels like sometimes. You guys are the ones who buy the records, you come to the shows, and you vote on these things. So we love you so much.”

Shelton acknowledged the fans and said that he sees the hours they spent on social media voting for this honor.

“I love you so much,” he told his girlfriend. “This means the world to us, more than you can probably imagine,” he added. “This is a crazy pairing in lots of different ways, but it’s working,” he concluded.
