There are a lot of people right now who believe the parents of Brian Laundrie may have planted some things in the Carlton Reserve for investigators to find. However, Steve Bertolino, the family attorney for the family of Brian Laundrie, spoke on Thursday calling those claims “hogwash.”

The lawyer’s full conversation focused on a number of different topics. Some of them include the search in the Florida reserve, Laundrie’s parents, Gabby Petito, and some of the ethical questions involved in the case. Bertolino spoke during a live interview with News Nation.

“Just moments after learning remains found in FL reserve are #brianlaundrie,” News Nation reporter Marni Hughes began her Twitter post. “I speak with the Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino My full interview tonight on #newsnationprime at 9/8c. I ask about search in the reserve, the parents, #GabbyPetito & ethical questions.”

But that has left everybody still wanting to know what happened to Gabby Petito. Some people believe that the family attorney may know more than what he has made public.

“He probably does know. But, attorney/client privilege is sustained even in death,” one reader pointed out. “So, he’s not obligated to say anything he knows even with Brian dead. He “could” share info if he wanted but he doesn’t have to, and in all likelihood given his relationship with the family, he won’t.”

Another Twitter user replied saying that from a lawyer standpoint, Bertolino has actually done a good job.

“You can not like him all you’d like, but he actually was a good lawyer by advising his clients to invoke the 5th. The law doesn’t always follow what the public wants.”

More Information About Brian Laundrie Will Be Revealed in the Coming Days

All we know right now is that the FBI is examining the human remains believed to be of those of Brian Laundrie. Laundrie was missing for several weeks before his remains were found on Thursday.

Chris and Roberta Laundrie, along with law enforcement, were searching in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park. That’s when authorities spotted several of Brian Laundrie’s items including a white bag, a notebook, and a backpack. They later stumbled across his skeletal remains.

As we all know, so many people have been taking this case personally. That has led to users on social media speculating that Laundrie’s parents may have planted items ahead of time for police to find. After all, authorities searched the same area for five weeks and found nothing. But the day his parents help with the search, they found items and the remains of their son.

Bertolino, however, has been expressing his anger and frustration over those claims. He used the word “hogwash” instead of “bullsh—t.” which he later added that it is.

But more information will be coming out as the investigation goes on.
