Valentine’s Day is almost upon us which apparently means that it’s time for novelty-themed cheeseburgers.

February 14 is a time of great passion. Passion for a relationship, passion for general love, or, in this case, passion for some odd-looking meals. Well, Burger King is happy to help with that last, ahem, “passion.”

That being said, you’re going to have to head to Thailand to get one.

The fast-food chain announced the promotion just recently, and with videos now making the rounds of the loving, or abominable, creation, people are getting their first eyes on the product.

From the moment the wrapper starts to come off, it’s clear: that bun is as pink as a playhouse. Besides the eye-grabbing bun, it seems to be a fairly typical sandwich. While the meat appears to be chicken, it is apparently a “salmon burger” according to 9gag.com.

While a bite of salmon doesn’t sound terrible, it starts to lose us with the classic American cheese slice. Not unheard of, but certainly not our go-to complement to salmon.

As for the black burger, it’s a bit more classic. Sandwiched between the pitch-black bread are two patties, two slices of cheese and grilled onions. To top it all off, it features barbeque sauce. Sounds like a classic double cheeseburger to us.

Of course, the reactions from both ends of the spectrum are enthusiastic, and perhaps surprisingly, mostly positive.

Fans Sound Off on New Creations from Burger King

Have you ever heard of Korean pop sensations Blackpink? If you have, it’s likely due to your online presence and following of the modern-pop scene. If not, it’s likely because of the exact opposite reasons.

Blackpink, started in 2016, has become one of the world’s biggest pop groups thanks to an explosion of popularity in the “K-Pop” scene. However, with a People’s Choice Award to their name as well as the Guinness World Record for the most-viewed YouTube video in the first 24 hours after release, it’s clear that the group isn’t just a passing fad.

The reactions from their fans on Twitter further solidifies that statement, as the majority of people commenting on the two new sandwiches are coming at it from the Blackpink perspective.

Many, such as @chels_annett, tweeted about it from the perspective of a meme. “One pink blackpink burger please,” the user tweeted alongside photos.

However, there were people doubtful about the sandwiches as well.

One user referenced a Halloween-themed Whopper that was served by the chain years back. Albeit, with probably too much detail.

“I wonder if these make your poop black like that black Halloween whopper Burger King had a few years back did,” tweeted @TheRealKueenKH.

It’s certainly the type of creation that, from a pure eating perspective, will turn some heads. For those aware of the band and their music, getting their hands on a Blackpink burger would be a dream come true. But if we’re being honest, the quality on these bad boys is one that remains to be seen.

Best of luck?
