Elon Musk Is Sending Jeff Bezos a Silver Medal and Statue of the Number 2 After Passing Him As Richest Man in the World

Elon Musk plans to up his troll game now that he is the richest man in the world. He said he’ll send Jeff Bezos some second-place gifts after he leapfrogged the Amazon creator for the title.

On Monday, the Tesla and SpaceX boss became the third person ever to be worth more than $200 billion, according to Forbes. Bezos and Bernard Arnault, the CEO of the French luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, reached that mark before. But they both have seen their fortunes shrink recently, which allowed Musk to overtake them. Now Musk, who never misses an opportunity to bust Bezos, said he’ll gloat.

“I’m sending a giant statue of the digit ‘2’ to Jeffrey B., along with a silver medal,” Musk told Forbes in an email.

Musk is now worth an estimated $200.7 billion, Forbes reported. While Bezos is worth a measly $192.5 billion. The men have traded the title of “world’s richest” back and forth several times. And the two have duked it out over space supremacy with SpaceX and Bezos’ Blue Origin.

Elon Musk was the first billionaire to publically admit his obsession with slipping the surly bonds of earth. Several others followed. It’s something Musk won’t let them forget. He called Bezos a “copycat” several times on Twitter.

And when NASA said it would work with SpaceX to get humans back to the moon, Blue Origin sued. Musk again took to Twitter, saying his rival “Can’t get it up (to orbit) lol.” A shot at the design of Bezos’ spaceship, which looks — ahemfamiliar.

Bezos gets his shots in as well. He slammed Musk repeatedly over his Bond-villain-like obsession with colonizing Mars.

Elon Musk Touts Tiny House Despite Massive Bank Account

Elon Musk may be as rich as a king, but he lives in a house fit for a commoner.

Earlier this year, Musk said he lives in a 375-square-foot house in Boca Chica, Texas, near the SpaceX launch site.

“My primary home is literally a ~$50k house in Boca Chica / Starbase that I rent from SpaceX. It’s kinda awesome though,” Musk tweeted. “Only house I own is the events house in the Bay Area. If I sold it, the house would see less use, unless bought by a big family, which might happen someday.”

Musk’s tiny Texas house has a kitchen, a bedroom, and one bathroom. The home comes from Boxabl Casita, which pre-fabricates these tiny homes that crews can literally unfold once they’re delivered. The point is to lower the cost of homeownership as well as address housing shortages in some areas, the company says.

There are more than 100,000 people on the waiting list to purchase one of these foldable homes, the company told KTLA earlier this month.
