Authorities and civilians are on the hunt for Brian Laundrie. No one has seen Gabby Petito’s potential killer in more than a week. Daily manhunts of Carlton Reserve have turned up nothing. Additionally, several potential sightings of Laundrie have produced the same. If his family and friends know his whereabouts, they’re staying quiet. However, one Florida-based law firm is offering a reward for tips that lead to his capture. They’re hoping that the old adage “Money talks,” will hold true in this case as it has in several others.
Thursday evening, North Port, Florida-based personal injury law firm Boohoff Law announced that they’re offering $20k for a solid tip on Brian Laundrie. They made the announcement via Twitter and linked to their website with more information.
According to Boohoff Law Firm’s website, the process is simple. If an individual knows where Brian Laundrie is, they call the FBI’s hotline at 1-800-CALL-FBI and give up the goods on the fugitive. They noted that they would pay the reward after the “investigating law enforcement agency supplies Boohoff Law written verification that a tip helped lead to locating Brian Laundrie.”
However, they’re only paying that amount once. The first person who leads authorities to Brian Laundrie and gets the agency to send Boohoff verification gets the reward. It cannot be split between multiple tipsters. Additionally, the reward is open for two months from the time law enforcement receives the tip.
The Hunt for Brian Laundrie
Brian Laundrie returned to his Florida home on September 1st. He was alone and driving Gabby Petito’s white van. Ten days later, on September 11th, Petito’s mother reported her missing. Three days later, on September 14th, Laundrie informed his parents that he was going hiking in Carlton Reserve, near his home. He has been in the wind for ten days now with no solid leads on his whereabouts.
North Port Florida authorities have hunted Brian Laundrie on a daily basis for about a week. They make treks into the Carlton Reserve with swamp buggies, planes, and everything else they have at their disposal. However, as of September 23rd, authorities are no closer to finding Laundrie.
Local authorities aren’t hunting alone, though. The FBI is involved as well. They’ve issued a federal warrant for Brian Laundrie’s arrest. However, the warrant isn’t for the murder of Gabby Petito. Instead, they want him for using her bank card without authorization. He spent hundreds of dollars of Petito’s money between August 30 and September 1.
North Port Police continues their hunt for Laundrie today. They’ll be scouring the Carlton Reserve once again. At the same time, people across the country are keeping their eyes open for him. Hopefully, Boohoff’s reward will make people look a little more closely at their surroundings.
