Actress Megan Fox is teaming up with an Army veteran to raise a million dollars worth of products for troops.
Happy Memorial Day! To honor our selfless military personnel, Megan Fox has partnered with an Army veteran and the owner of Redline Steel, Colin Wayne, for the second year in a row. The two are working alongside the U.S. Army to try and raise at least $1 million in products for troops. Last year, that number exceeded $2.5 million during “Operation Memorial Giveback.”
Megan Fox Proudly Gives Back
Fox is very appreciative to servicemen and women, saying this cause is something the 35-year-old actress feels very strongly about. She also gives a shout-out to Wayne for his generosity.
“Being able to team-up with Colin for the second year in a row and his pledge of at least $1 million in products is an honor,” Fox told Fox News. “Memorial Day is all about honoring and remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and this give back is one I stand fully behind. I want to thank Colin for his service and continuing to put people over profit.”
Colin Wayne is proud to be working with the actress as well, calling the dynamic duo “amazing.” He hopes that in the future, more celebrities will endorse the campaign.
“To have Megan Fox get behind this campaign for the second year is an amazing feeling because of the success from the first year, and we are hopeful to team up for several years in the future for ‘Operation Memorial Giveback’ with more celebrities that want to giveback and honor our Veterans that paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” he said.
The 31-year-old veteran served three tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Egypt during his time in the military.
Wayne and Megan Fox’s goals for the 2021 “Operation Memorial Giveback” campaign are to “surpass $1 million in product donations with our Soldier Memorial and to nationally bring awareness to the true meaning behind Memorial Day.”
The Importance of Memorial Day
Furthermore, Wayne explains why this day is “the most important federal holiday” and why we should be doing more to celebrate it.
“As a veteran, Memorial Day is the most important federal holiday in existence and unfortunately has lost its true meaning. Memorial Day is a day to honor those that paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It’s a day to honor the family members and loved ones that are no longer here so that we can have the many freedoms that we have in America.”
After noticing Megan Fox’s continuous commitment to the military Wayne admitted he has wanted to work with her.
“I saw that she went to South Korea to visit the troops,” explained Wayne. “I heard that she voluntarily spent hours taking photos and signing autographs for the troops stationed at that base. This type of selfless act really resonated with me. I respected her that much more, which ultimately led to reaching out to her about our Memorial Day Giveback.”
Thank you, Colin Wayne and Megan Fox, for your generous and selfless contribution to helping the military. As for the troops that serve this amazing country, there are no words to show our gratitude.
