“There are no words to describe how honored, humbled and fortunate I am to serve our nation as your First Lady,” Trump said.

Trump closed out the second night of the RNC with a 25-minute keynote speech outside the White House. She praised the unwavering resolve of Americans during challenging times. In addition, the first lady focused on two of her husband’s main political obstacles – the COVID-19 pandemic, and protests against police brutality and racial inequality.

The first lady began her speech by sharing her sympathy for those who lost loved ones due to COVID-19. She acknowledged that “many people are anxious,” and that many are still suffering from the coronavirus and its effects.

Furthermore, she advocated for Americans to come together during these tough times. She pleaded for reflection on racism and to learn from it.

“It is a harsh reality that we are not proud of parts of our history,” she said. “Stop the violence and looting being done in the name of justice.”
