After President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were diagnosed with COVID-19, the first family took to Twitter to remind people to stay safe.

The first lady, 50, posted about her diagnosis on Twitter early this morning to confirm their positive test results, but did say that she and her husband were “feeling good.”

“As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.”

Her tweet has already gotten 48,000 retweets, 7,900 quote tweets, and 287,500 thousand likes, and continues to rack more in.

Like on her husband’s tweet, many of the comments had users from both political parties wishing for the well-being of the family, while some said this was karma.

President Donald Trump also took to Twitter early this morning, at 12:54 a.m. ESTto shared a tweet that read, “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”

His tweet already has 375,000 retweets, more than 460,000 quote tweets, and 1.4 million likes. It is still climbing at an astounding rate.

Of the 56,000 tweets President Trump has made since joining Twitter in 2009, the one made this morning about their diagnosis has been his most liked and retweeted tweet yet.

President Trump’s previous most-liked tweet was on August 2, 2019. He announced on this day that rapper A$AP Rocky was being released from prison and was on his way back to the US from Sweden.
