Mike Pence is opening up about his thoughts on Joe Biden’s VP selection, Kamala Harris. On Wednesday, the Vice President spoke out about looking forward to going head-to-head with Harris on stage this fall.
During an appearance on “Hannity,” Pence explains that he “can’t wait” for the Oct. 7 vice presidential debate in Utah. “My message to the Democratic nominee for vice president: Congratulations,” Pence said on Fox News. “I’ll see you in Salt Lake City.”
Pence then listed the topics that he looks forward to covering in the debate with Harris. “I think she is a skilled debater, but I can’t wait to get to Salt Lake City and be on the stage –whether to compare Joe Biden’s nearly 50 years in public life, the agenda of the radical left, the agenda that she’s embraced throughout her political career — with the results of this president and this administration,” Pence said.
Earlier on Wednesday, Presidential candidate Joe Biden first revealed Kamala Harris as his VP selection. During an event in Wilmington, DE, Harris referred to Trump and Pence as an “open and shut” case.
While Harris may feel confident about her chances over Trump-Pence in this year’s election, the current Vice President feels differently. Pence pointed out a number of issues that he finds particularly troublesome for Biden and Harris.
Mike Pence on Where He Disagrees with Biden-Harris
One primary issue that VP Mike Pence pointed out about Biden and Harris regards their record with the African-American community and other minorities. “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris come from a party that’s been talking about helping African-Americans for decades,” Pence said. “This is a president who, because of the policies we advanced, we actually saw the lowest unemployment ever recorded for African-Americans.”
Pence continued by mentioning other ways the current administration helped the African-American community. “We saw the creation of thousands of opportunity zones creating billions of dollars of investment in our inner cities,” he continued. “This is a president who doubled the school choice program here in our nation’s capital, has been fighting for educational opportunities for every American, especially [in] our minority communities.”
Furthermore, Pence called out several more Biden-Harris policies that he does not support. “[Biden and Harris] actually want to raise taxes by $4 trillion. They want to do their own version of the Green New Deal, of a $2 trillion, massive environmental agenda,” Pence said. “They’re going to appoint activist [judges] to our courts. They’re going to support taxpayer funding of abortion. They support open borders.”
Mike Pence Offers Praise for President Donald Trump
In conclusion, Pence echoed President Trump’s criticisms of Biden-Harris. The two consider Biden and Harris as “radical left.” Pence also praised Trump for his continued support of law enforcement.
“And the truth of the matter is, beyond all of that, with everything that’s happening in Chicago and New York and Portland and Seattle, you have in President Trump, a leader who is standing without apology with the men and women of law enforcement,” Pence said.
Lastly, Pence says that he thinks Americans should easily be able to choose whose platform is better. “And in Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are Democratic Party and the radical left, you have people talking about cutting funding to law enforcement, a party that is advocating defunding law enforcement. The choice could not be clearer.”
