Naomi Judd hilariously reveals the “Dollyism” quote that she received from the legendary Dolly Parton herself.
Dolly Parton and Naomi Judd are two peas in a pod. The two women are both 75-year-olds country music stars. Dolly Parton even appears in Judd’s 1995 mini-series highlighting her life, titled Naomi & Wynonna: Love can Build a Bridge, as the women also take on roles as actresses.
One thing’s for sure. Both women sure have a way with words.
Naomi Judd Dishes on Dolly
In a recent interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, Naomi Judd goes through her list of most iconic moments.
When Dolly’s name is brought up, Judd has more than enough to say about the star that she had seen more than enough of. In fact, the first thing she gushed over is that she had seen Dolly Parton naked.
After touching on the fact that the legendary star has some hidden tattoos of winged animals, Naomi Judd notes the last time she saw Dolly Parton. Judd reveals the hilarious “Dollyism” the Tennessee native said to her.
“Last time I saw her, she said- she’s my girlfriend, and she said ‘well, if you’re like me, the older you get less makeup but, the more underwear you wear.”
This line could mean a number of different things. However, we have come to the conclusion that Dolly Parton simply doesn’t care what anyone thinks anymore.
Who has time for skimpy little uncomfortable underwear? Give Dolly the biggest ones you have. She will wear them with pride.
Also, keep your makeup. The 75-year-old beauty doesn’t need it anymore (like Dolly ever did in the first place).
By the look on Naomi Judd’s face, she either doesn’t agree with the statement or is embarrassed by Dolly Parton’s openness. Judd does seem more reserved compared to our beloved open book that is Dolly Parton.
We guess the bigger the underwear, the more tattoos Dolly could get and cover? Heck, this could be a good thing for her. Butterflies everywhere.
Dolly Parton’s Tattoos
Dolly Parton does clarify that while she does have a few tattoos, she isn’t what you consider a “tattoo girl.” She also reveals the reason she got them in the first place.
“I do have some tattoos, that’s true,” Dolly Parton told People. “But they’re tasteful. I’m not a tattoo girl. My tattoos are pretty, they’re artful, and they usually started out to cover some scar, not to make a big statement. Ribbons and bows and butterflies are the things that I have. I was very sick for a while, and I had to wear a feeding tube. It left a little indention in my side, and I didn’t like it because I’m so fair that scars turn purple on me.”
