The “Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond is gaining a new son-in-law. The 51-year-old star’s daughter Alex is engaged.
Drummond took to social media to share the exciting news over the weekend. “These two are gonna have so much fun together,” she captioned the post. “We love you, Alex and Mauricio! 🤠😭😍”
Alex, 23, also took to Instagram to announce the news. She shared a handful of photos from the special moment when Mauricio, 23, proposed. “Still waiting for someone to pinch me??!?!” she writes in the caption. “Mauricio Scott is the sweetest picture of God’s goodness and provision. And I get to spend FOREVER with him!! I love you, fiancé!!!!!!!”
After sharing the big news, thousands of Alex’s friends and followers congratulated them on Instagram. “I’LL NEVER GET OVER THIS!!!! i love you guys so much! the best day ever ❤️,” one user wrote. “OH MY GOODNESS ALEX YES!!!!! so happy for y’all!!!! 😍” another user commented.
Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond’s Daughter’s Proposal Post
Following the proposal, the happy couple celebrated their engagement with friends and family. Alex documented the gathering on social media giving a glimpse at the celebratory champagne and flower wall that reads “The Scott’s” that Mauricio prepared.
Alex and Mauricio met during their freshman year of undergrad at Texas A&M, People reports. Thereafter the two graduated in 2019. Back in November of 2018, Alex talked about meeting Mauricio at a ranch in an Instagram post. “s/o to freshman yr. ranch for introducing me to this dude,” Alex writes. “Who woulda thought 😊 thank you, ranch! one last time!”
The newly engaged couple regularly posts about their relationship on social media. Most recently, Alex and Mauricio enjoyed the great outdoors taking visits to Miramar Beach in Florida and Cedar Creek Lake in Texas.
In addition to Alex, “Pioneer Woman: Ree Drummond is mother to her daughter, Paige, 20, and two sons, Bryce, 17, and Todd, 16.
