The combination of peanut butter and chocolate in any form is pretty much always a hit, and nobody knows that better than Reese’s.
Since the inception of the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup in 1928, the candy brand has been one of the world’s favorite. And with 93 years of life, new ideas and ways to cram the decadent peanut butter-chocolate combo into folks’ mouths have always been important.
Now, in 2021, a new addition to the storied lineup has arrived. Behold, the Reese’s Peanut Crunchy Bar.
Alright, I’m not gonna lie: that looks pretty good, just on first look. Right away, you can tell what the candy bar is going for: crunch and peanut flavor.
Every person differs, but the key to Reese’s is that iconic peanut butter flavor. The chocolate, from Hershey, is classic as well, but they start the original product with peanut butter for a reason.
It’s worth mentioning that this isn’t anywhere close to the brand’s first chocolate bar. With ‘Reese’s Sticks,’ ‘Nutrageous’ bars, and the always delicious ‘Fast Break’ bar, this is just a new pillar in the brand’s candy infrastructure.
But that’s enough from me. Let’s see what the folks in Hershey, Pennsylvania have to say themselves.
Reese’s Gives Details on New Bar
Fox News was able to get confirmation of the announcement as well as some words from the brand.
An anonymous spokesperson offered the company line on why the bar is out, and why fans will love it.
“It’s the peanut butter and chocolate combo you love, now with peanuts and peanut butter crème to give the bar that crunchy and creamy taste fans are sure to love,” the Hershey spokesperson said. “The Reese’s family is excited to welcome this new Reese’s Peanut Crunchy Bar to the lineup as a permanent addition.”
Sounds about right. Plus, the words “permanent addition” means that there is no huge rush to grab one when they hit shelves at the end of April.
Alongside the new permanent bar, the brand also launched a temporarily available all-peanut-butter cup.
