Country singer Trace Adkins sang the National Anthem on Wednesday, at the end of night three of the 2020 RNC. The singer has been a long-time supporter of Donald Trump politically and even appeared on the sixth season of Trump’s show, The Celebrity Apprentice.
Adkins recently released “Just The Way We Do It,” which appears on the growing EP, Not That Kind Of Cowboy. He announced on Wednesday via Twitter that listeners can now stream the song on all platforms.
President Donald Trump’s Youtube posted a video of the performance, which now has nearly 14,000 views.
Wednesday’s National Anthem performance followed a grand entrance by the Trumps. Melania and Donald Trump surprised the audience by walking down a corridor to the stage at the end of the night. Arriving at the stage, the two stood with hands on their heart as the country singer performed the Star-Spangled Banner.
While the president made no address at the podium following his surprise appearance, attendees were ecstatic to see him join the Pences on stage for Adkin’s performance.
The country rendition of the National Anthem by Trace Adkins closed the third day of the Republican National Convention. Thursday is the last day of events. President Trump will formally accept his renomination for president during the night’s proceedings. Other notable speakers on the last night of the RNC include Ben Carson, Ivanka Trump, and Dana White.
