While most people have guard dogs, this family in Arizona has a guard cat. This little feline scared off a coyote and got away with his life. Not just that, but the whole thing was caught on video.
Sunny, the 5-year-old tuxedo cat lives quite a wild life at night apparently. It was last Friday right around 2 o’clock in the morning. As a former street cat, Sunny is no stranger to danger. The kitty is always looking for something to catch according to his mom Kelli Koeller. The Koeller’s were able to get the action all on their surveillance camera. Check it out below.
That poor, skinny coyote didn’t stand a chance against the quick and mean Sunny. In the video you see the cat charge at the wild canine. They were both likely looking for something to eat. By catching this foe off guard, Sunny was able to get the upper hand and establish a dominant position.
“I did not expect to ever see that on camera,” Koeller said to FOX 10. “I suspected he does that on his own time or whatever, but I just did not expect to see it. And it was amazing to see.”
As the weather gets colder, coyotes across the country are going to be looking for food. That means coming into residential areas and other places looking for easy food sources. However, I doubt this coyote thought they would encounter such a ferocious cat.
Deer Fights Off Coyote and Bobcat on Trail Cam
Right now, coyotes are doing what they can to get food. That means taking on prey such as deer and other animals. For a coyote and a bobcat, they had their paws full with one deer. Luckily for all of us, it was caught on a trail cam for all to see.
Seriously, this deer is a badass. Pictures from the cam show that while it was feeding, the buck fought off not just one but two coyotes at the same time. By thrashing around. using its antlers and more he was able to fight off those would-be predators. However, his night wasn’t over.
Just when things were almost over, a bobcat appeared on top of the feeder. The canines were intimidated by the presence of the large cat. The bobcat seems to be contemplating taking down one of the coyotes or the deer. The buck lasted long enough for a wild boar to show up to the feeder. Just what he needed. None of the predators had time to mess with the potential violence of the boar. However, the deer might have not made it out of his unfortunate predicament once it was all said and done.
