Bubba Wallace is taking a victory lap on social media. While this victory lap isn’t taking place around an actual racetrack, the young NASCAR driver is still enjoying it.

On Monday (Jan. 25), Wallace posted about his winning ways on his Twitter page.

“Well @JRHouston20 invited me for some dirt practice in his @iRacing league.. Still got it from 2014,” Wallace shared. “#winnerwinner.”

Accompanying the post was a clip of Wallace’s “race car” leading the pack on the dirt track.

Twitter users were happy to Wallace competing in iRacing and sharing his results.

“Man the one night I don’t make it to the league race BUBBA FREAKING WALLACE RACES WITH US. It was cool to see you out there though,” one user posted.

“Thanks for coming and racing with us. Had a blast,” another said.

One user simply posted, “Wicked!” in response to Bubba Wallace’s tweet.

The Four Corners Racing League also celebrated Wallace’s victory with the following tweet.

With his “Still got it from 2014” comment, Wallace is most likely referring to his days racing a truck in NASCAR. That year, he won the 1-800 Car Cash Mudsummer Classic, which took place on dirt, in Rossburg, Ohio. It was his third win that season.

According to reports, Bubba Wallace drove his No. 54 Toyota Care Tundra of Kyle Busch Motorsports to victory while leading 97 of the 150 laps during that race. He started in sixth place and battled his way to victory.

“This is awesome,” Wallace said at the time. “I’m still trying to figure out how this happened. All day, I was like, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing.’  But I think this year was a little different for us. We went and tested a couple of weeks ago, but we knew what to test for this time.”

Bubba Wallace, NASCAR Drivers to Race on Dirt at Bristol in 2021

Bubba Wallace can put his actual – and virtual – dirt racing experience to use very soon when NASCAR goes to Bristol Motor Speedway in March.

“Bristol Motor Speedway has hosted many historic events over the years and we will be adding to that resume,” Jerry Caldwell, general manager of Bristol Motor Speedway, told NBC in September. “We can’t wait to see how the stars of NASCAR take to the dirt.”

The dirt race is scheduled for March 28 at the East Tennessee racetrack.

Getting back to dirt is going back to racing’s heritage, according to Caldwell. This has been something racetrack and NASCAR officials have been hoping to do for some time.

The last time a Cup race took place on dirt was on Sept. 30, 1970. Richard Petty, a hall of fame driver, won that race held at the North Caroline State Fairgrounds.

Driver Austin Dillon has said he is looking forward to racing on dirt at Bristol Motor Speedway. “I’m super pumped. … I’m hoping it becomes a staple,” he told NBC Sports.

Other drivers aren’t as happy about the dirt track. NASCAR fans will just have to wait and see what happens on March 28.
