Patrick Mahomes and fiancee Brittany Matthews have bragged on daughter Sterling since she was born earlier this year. But they’ve never shown a photo of her face.
That changed Friday. The couple, via their social media accounts, posted an adorable family photo of sweet Sterling. She looks like a pretty combo of both of them. And the way she’s dressed, chances are good she’ll be an athlete.
Brittany Matthews captioned the photo: “Hi, my name is Sterling.” Patrick Mahomes posted the same photo and wrote “Hello world.”
Baby Sterling was wearing a black Adidas tracksuit and matching headband. We wouldn’t expect any other brand. Patrick Mahomes and Adidas go way back. The star Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and Super Bowl winner signed a deal with the sportswear company in 2017.
As for whether baby Sterling will be an athlete, it’ll be difficult to avoid her DNA. Patrick Mahomes is a terrific football and baseball player. Meanwhile, Brittany Matthews played soccer at University of Texas-Tyler and now owns her own fitness business.
Sterling was born Feb. 20, 13 days after the Super Bowl. Mahomes’ Chiefs were the defending champions, but lost to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews Love to Share Lives, But Waited a Bit to Reveal Sterling
Brittany Matthews loves to share all aspects of the couple’s lives on social media. But she didn’t want to reveal what her daughter looked like too soon.
She wrote on Instagram: “We will share photos of her when we (feel) the time is right. I know the internet will instantly take the photos of her and share everywhere so just preparing myself for my newborn baby girl to be shared to the world!” Right now we are just soaking in every minute with her.”
Brittany did post a photo of she and Sterling to celebrate Mother’s Day. But Sterling’s back was to the camera.
The couple are planning a wedding for next year. But the two, who are both 25, have been together and in love since high school. Both grew up outside Tyler, Texas. And each graduated from Whitehouse High School. They lived in different cities when Patrick Mahomes played at Texas Tech, which is across the state from Tyler. But they’ve been together since Mahomes was selected by Kansas City with the 10th pick of the 2017 NFL draft.
On Friday, Jackson Mahomes was one of the first to respond to Baby Sterling’s photo. She’s the niece of Jackson, Patrick’s brother who also is a social media star and influencer.
DeMarcus Robinson, a teammate of Patrick Mahomes, posted “OMG Hiii Little Cutie. (daughter Thunder Robinson) Says She Can’t Wait To Meet You Sterling.”
Brittany Matthews then responded to Mahomes’ post, writing “my whole world.”
