Patrick Mahomes is heading home from Super Bowl LV without a ring on his finger this year. But the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback certainly gave it everything he had.

According to the injury report, he has been playing with turf toe since the AFC Championship game. The injury likely didn’t allow the typically mobile quarterback to move around the pocket as well as he would have liked to. Patrick Mahomes will most likely need surgery on the toe during the offseason to correct the injury.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs’ quarterback, he was unable to lead his team to victory. Instead, Patrick Mahomes took the worst loss of his NFL career tonight (Feb. 7).

After the game, he took a moment to share his thoughts on Super Bowl LV. He kept his interview brief and concise. Mahomes said that the Chiefs were outplayed, and there was nothing that could be done about it.

Patrick Mahomes Was Beaten Badly in Super Bowl LV

In all fairness, Patrick Mahomes did all that he could to give his team a fighting chance. But, the Chiefs never really looked like they were in the game. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense was overwhelming. It looked as if the defense could go and get Mahomes whenever they wanted to do so. There was no stopping them.

Additionally, Mahomes didn’t start the game very well. Before he knew it, halftime was upon him, and they were down 21-6. The rest of the game was more of the same. Mahomes was firing passes to his receivers that they seemed to refuse to catch. Even though he did his best to get his team back into the game, it was ultimately too little too late.

The good news though is that this will certainly fuel him for next year. So NFL, watch out. There is a hungry Patrick Mahomes on the prowl, and you probably don’t want to get in the way of him.

He will be a man on a mission next year as there is a lot left for him to prove. You probably shouldn’t be surprised if he never loses another game in his career.
