On February 15, the tragic news released that ex-San Diego and Tampa Bay star Vincent Jackson had passed at 38.
According to reports, Jackson was found in a hotel on February 15 in Brandon, Florida. His body was discovered by a hotel maid.
Further, Jackson was staying at the hotel since January 11. He was then the subject of a missing person report on February 10. His family filed the report.
However, Jackson talked with the local police on February 11. Unfortunately, Jackson was dead at the age of 38 just four days later. There were no signs of trauma.
Alongside the police report, Sheriff Chad Chronister offered a statement. The local sheriff offered more than just information, speaking to Jackson’s contributions in the Tampa Bay community.
“My heart aches for the many loved ones Vincent Jackson leaves behind, from his wife and children to the Buccaneers nation that adored him,” Chronister said. “Mr. Jackson was a devoted man who put his family and community above everything else. Football aside, he touched countless lives through his Jackson In Action 83 Foundation.
“We shared a passion for supporting military families, and three years ago, Jackson was even made an honorary deputy by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office to recognize his dedication to the community. He will be sorely missed by not only football fans across the country, but also the people here in Hillsborough County who reaped the benefits of his generous contributions.”
Vincent Jackson Was Helping Military Families
As Chronister mentions, Jackson was helping military service members. The Facebook page for the Jackson In Action 83 Foundation shared a post of grief after the news.
We are all mourning the loss of our beloved Vincent. His wife and family ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time.
