Back in 2015, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers dominated on the gridiron, and carried that over to his appearance on Celebrity Jeopardy!.
Recently, the 37-year-old quarterback won his third NFL MVP award for his superb 2020 season. He led his team to the NFC Championship before losing to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, Rodgers’ talents extend far past the football field, which he proved during a special celebrity edition of Jeopardy! six years ago.
During the episode, Rodgers competed against Shark Tank host Kevin O’Leary and retired astronaut Mark Kelly. Following his selection of the “Leader of the Pack” category, the 2010 Super Bowl winner went to work. He cleared the whole category as he answered every question. Additionally, he impressed legendary Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek with his knowledge. Trebek even saluted Rodgers’s run of the category by impersonating the quarterback’s “Discount Double Check” celebration.
Rodgers donated his winnings on the show to the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer organization. His solid performance raised $50,000 for the MACC fund.
Furthermore, Aaron Rodgers’ connection with the game show will continue soon. He recently shared that he will be a guest host of Jeopardy! in the near future in the wake of Trebek’s passing. The longtime host lost his battle with pancreatic cancer back in November. The game show announced multiple interim hosts, including champion Ken Jennings, Katie Couric and Bill Whitaker as well.
“They’re doing some guest hosting spots and it’s going to be released here pretty soon. But I have the opportunity to do one of those,” Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show. “I’m excited about that opportunity with Jeopardy!.”
Aaron Rodgers Recently Got Engaged to Hollywood Actress
Aaron Rodgers revealed other big news when he recently announced his engagement to actress Shailene Woodley.
Two weeks ago, the typically private quarterback caught everyone by surprise when he mentioned his engagement. According to E News!, Rodgers and Woodley met during the summer of 2020, and some reports even say that his ex-girlfriend and racer Danica Patrick introduced the pair.
Rodgers revealed his engagement with a subtle three-word statement while accepting his award at an NFL honors dinner.
“2020 was definitely a crazy year,” Rodgers said during his speech. “Filled with lots of change, growth, amazing memorable moments. 180 straight days of having my nose scraped. Playing for very little fans or no fans the entire season. I got engaged…”
E News! also reported that the couple’s romance came about quick, but that it made sense after months of dating.
“Yet for those close to the athlete and his bride-to-be Shailene Woodley, an engagement seemed like the only logical play after months of dating,” E! News reported. “Instantly smitten, they had a very intense connection from the beginning. It’s a quick engagement, but for those that know them, it didn’t come as a surprise.”
