On Thursday, the first round of the 2020 Masters Tournament began, and PGA great Tiger Woods almost sunk a hole-in-one on No. 16.

The reigning Masters champion began play on No. 10 today. Woods started out hot as he proceeded to birdie three of his first seven holes played. He birdied No. 13 and 15, which are the two par-fives on the backside of Augusta National.

Then, Woods stepped up to tee off at the par-three No. 16. The 15-time major championship winner teed off with an iron on the 170-yard hole. His shot landed around 10 feet from the flag, rolled back towards the pin, and rested only inches from the cup. Woods went on to finish the hole with an easy birdie putt.

Bleacher Report’s Twitter account shared a clip of Woods’ impressive No. 16 shot during Round 1 of the Masters.

Masters: Jon Rahm Hits Wild Pond-Skipping Hole-in-One

On Tuesday, during practice rounds of the 2020 Masters Tournament, PGA golfer Jon Rahm hit a wild pond-skipping hole-in-one.

Likewise, Rahm hit the amazing shot on the same hole that Woods birdied on Thursday – No. 16. The Spaniard hit the ball along the pond’s surface as it skipped in the water three times before rolling on the green. The ball continued to roll quite a distance before curving with the slope of the green. As it rolled to the left, it started to break backwards toward the pin. All of a sudden the golf ball was rolling directly towards the cup before it dropped in for an astounding hole-in-one.

During Augusta National pre-tournament practice rounds, it has become somewhat of a tradition for golfers to attempt the pond-skip shot at No. 16. Even though Rahm’s impressive shot was during a practice round, you can see his excitement as he shares the moment with his caddie in the video below.
